Argumentation semantics in extended logic programming has been deened in 3, 10] for a single agent, determining the agents' beliefs by an internal argumentation process. In this paper we extend the argumentation framework to a multi-agent setting including cooperation among agents. We present an algorithm for inference in the framework and an example to show the process of cooperation and argumentation. Argumentation and Cooperation for Distributed Extended Logic Programs
Argumentation semantics in extended logic programming has been deened in (Dung 1993; Prakken & Sar-tor 1997) for a single agent, determining the agents' beliefs by an internal argumentation process. In this paper we extend the argumentation framework to a multi-agent setting including cooperation among agents. We present an inference algorithm for the framework and an example showing the proces...
متن کاملAn Argumentation-Based Negotiation for Distributed Extended Logic Programs
The paradigm of argumentation has been used in the literature to assign meaning to knowledge bases in general, and logic programs in particular. With this paradigm, rules of a logic program are viewed as encoding arguments of an agent, and the meaning of the program is determined by those arguments that somehow (depending on the specific semantics) can defend themselves from the attacks of othe...
متن کاملVivid Agents Arguing about Distributed Extended Logic Programs
Argumentation semantics in extended logic programming has been defined in [5,12] for a single agent which determines its believes by an internal argumentation process. In this paper we extend the initial argumentation framework to a multi-agent setting including both argumentation and cooperation. We define inference for multi-agent systems and define an algorithm for inference. We sketch an ar...
متن کاملNotions of Attack and Justified Arguments for Extended Logic Programs
The concept of argumentation may be used to give a formal semantics to a variety of assumption based reasoning formalisms. In particular, various argumentation semantics have been proposed for logic programming with default negation. For extended logic programming, i.e. logic programming with two kinds of negation, there arise a variety of notions of attack on an argument, and therefore a varie...
متن کاملA Distributed Argumentation Framework using Defeasible Logic Programming ( Extended Version )
Defeasible Logic Programming (DeLP) by García and Simari is an approach to realise non-monotonic reasoning via dialectical argumentation. We extend their approach by explicitly supporting distributed entities in the argumentation process on a structural basis. This makes the modelling of distributed argumentation systems like a jury court by using DeLP techniques possible. In this framework pos...
